While the warmer tones of White can give me trouble, the cooler tones Never do. Perhaps it's mental, perhaps I thin down Space Wolves Grey better than any other color, I don't know. What I DO know, is that things are coming along. I basecoated the face with Tanned Flesh, and my highlighting process moved through Cwarf Flesh and Elf Flesh and I ended with 50/50 Elf Flesh/Skull White. The Lips were basecoated in Scab Red, and then highlighed with Blood Red, Blazing Orange, and Skull White. The eyes were painted white, the Dotted with Snot Green and again with white. I used Dark Flesh and Dwarf Flesh for the eye shadow.

I am quite pleased with the way the weapon turned out. The blade is Codex Grey, Fortress Grey and Skull White, and just a tiny bit of Midnight Blue. The runes are Chaos Black, Dark Flesh, Scab Red, Blood Red, Blazing Orange, and spots of Skull White for the reflections, same with the gem on the cloak clasp. The White of the Cloak is done, created the same way as the armor, progressive layers of Space Wolves Grey and Skull White over the Shadow Grey basecoat. The Leather may need further HL after the Cloak is painted, but I'm not sure yet.Currently the Leather is all painted with mixes of Scorched Brown and Graveyard Earth. The Cloak and Loincloth/Tabard is basecoated in Shadow Grey and will match the armor.

After asking the opinions of a few painters that I hold in high regard, I have decided on a Winter Color Scheme.The White Armor was painted with progressive layers of Shadow Grey, Space Wolves Grey, and Skull White. I have transferred the model to a tile base that I had sitting around. The knife was painted with greys and white, and I painted a slight wood grain on the handle.All that remains is the boots and the blood.

I used the new Box set Techmarine, right out of the box, but I did shave off the "teddy bear button nose." For Tech-Servitor 1017, I used a Daemonhunters Model. Well, it is over. In a half-assed little ceremony yesterday, containing 1 GW staff member and 8 contest entrants. The winners were announced for the 2005 RTT Holiday Painting Comp @ GW Syracuse. Brother Travus' cupola, storm bolter, and lenses are all complete. Chassis has been completely highlighted and given a 2nd coat of Dull Cote. No comes the tedius work... Next is the chassis wheels and the attachment of the tracks. From there, I will move to the non-metallic detail work [scrolls, headlights, windows]. But 1st, a quick break and a smoke.

Took a break while the Dullcote on the Regal Blue was drying, watched an episode of my now favorite show on TV, House, a gritty medical drama starring Hugh Lurie. I strongly recommend it to anybody who might be reading this. Going back to it now, the cupola will be 1st, followed by the Storm Bolter. Marcus Atticus Work-In-Progress Two more planets claimed in the name of the most Holy Emperor and Guilliman. One Xeno Faction was completely removed from the campaign.
